Having yogurt in the morning on the go? Well, it can be a great snack and dessert as well. Plain yogurt is good but try these toppings to add flavor, color, and nutrition to your choice of yogurt.
Berries: Berries add color and flavor. Also, berries are rich in antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins C.
Walnuts: Nuts are an excellent addition to yogurt. Walnuts add flavor, healthy fat, fiber, and protein. Also, walnuts are high in antioxidants and rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which is good for heart health.
Granola or crushed graham crackers: Granola and graham crackers add flavor, fat, fiber, and a slight crunch to yogurt. Another, idea is to crush graham crackers and add it to the bottom of a bowl and then top it off with yogurt and fruit.
Peanut butter: Peanut butter is a creamy addition to yogurt. Also, it adds flavor, healthy fat, and protein to any plain yogurt.
Pomegranate: Pomegranate adds color, flavor, and vitamins to yogurt. Take a small amount and sprinkle the very top of the yogurt. It works great as a garnishment!
