My Journey

All You Need to Know

Over the years, I spent time advocating for health and wellness. Most importantly, I live by example and lead a wellness lifestyle. Notice I said "wellness" and not healthy because healthy is subjective and is determined by one's personal goals and belief system. I believe that overall wellness is a journey and not a destination. During my early years, as an athlete, I was very curious about food and the nutrients needed to enhance and fuel my performance. Soon the curiosity grew into a love and zeal for health and fitness.

So, I began my journey as an aerobic instructor and fitness coach at a local gym assisting members with their goals. Shortly, I earned a bachelor's degree in human nutrition and worked in the field of community health where I spent most of my time educating, counseling, and promoting healthcare. Later, I earned a master's degree in clinical nutrition and worked in an acute and post-acute care settings assisting patients with disease management such as diabetes, hypertension, congestive heart failure, respiratory failure, chronic kidney disease, liver disease, high cholesterol, gastrointestinal disorders, obesity, cancer and more.

The best part of my journey is sharing my love for food and nutrition with others. My goal is to be a role model for those seeking to enrich and enhance their life and longevity. I prefer to create good habits and not restrictions. My motto is "Healthier Minds for Better Nutrition."  Fundamentally, it's imperative that one is educated, optimistic, and realistic in order to change his or her behavior. My philosophy is that no two people are alike! So, why should their wellness journey be?

An investment in health pays the best interest!
